Beach Sunsets! Break Out Those Summer Sandals!
Beach Sunsets! Break out those Summer Sandals!

These paintings of our logo VW Bus was done by the famous California water colorist, Bill Anderson, whose Gallery shares the interesting streets of Sunset Beach with The Yoga Sandals(R) Peace Van. The rich colors of the painting reminded us Summer is almost upon us, and our goal of getting people to turn in their dangerous flip-flops for our stable and healthy Yoga Sandals(R) begins again.
We felt grateful to have been able to donate nearly 1000 brand new Yoga Sandals(R) to Soles4Souls, a non-profit group that provides shoes for disaster relief. We had started that type of donation with Hurricane Katrina when we saw pictures of "Souls' walking the streets with cardboard tied to their feet. When everything is swept away, and a person faces hunger and thirst, they are not thinking of their feet and the potential pestilence that can infect them from ground contact. We realized with the recent destruction caused by earthquakes, we could offer some support by donating sandals that are stable along slippery surfaces and muddy ground that will come with storms. The open sandal will resist mold in the humid climates, yet provide some protection for the feet. Soles4Souls will see that the sandals get where they can help in this time of great need around the world.
Packing up our donation to Soles4Souls

I wanted to share a personal experience using the sandals I invented in 1998. In March this year, after years of struggling with bone on bone in my knee, I had a knee replacement. The doctors and physical therapist want that knee moving from the moment they finish the operation until the knee has healed to limit the development of scar tissue. After I got out of the hospital, I wore my Yoga Sandals(R) constantly. I knew they would provide the balance I needed, and that separating the toes and working the arch would allow my leg muscles to redevelop in an aligned way between my ankle, my knee and my hip. My doctors could not believe that 4 weeks from the operation, I had full range of motion one can achieve with a prosthetic knee, my gait was strong, and my balance amazing. I knew the sandals would help me regain, and even improve, my leg's mobility. It felt wonderful to know my invention was a powerful tool in aiding my recovery.
Our Mascots, Jack and Colleen have been busy checking out the summer sites for some modeling shots:
We thought they found a GREAT site for modeling how stable our sandals really are!

Another plus, our sandals work well for that no-smudge Summer Pedicure for the beach, the pool and the boat!
So to Celebrate Flip-Flop Day this year, turn in the single thong sandal. Join the Sandal Evolution(R) and wear the stable multi-thong sandal that exercises and strengthens your foot muscles and aligns your joints!
